Series Stadtleitbilder
Diagrams of city ideals of the 19th and 20th century which represented an ideal conception of urban space in that time form the basis of the drawings of the series. The respective scheme is mirrored along the horizontal and vertical axes, so that it multiplies itself into a pattern. Thereby the formalism particular to the original sketches transforms the drawings into a multiple repeat.
The appendix is based on three traditions of the ideal city of Vitruvius, which he describes between 33 and 22 BC in his work "Ten Books on Architecture". While the first copy still remains true to the original, the other two focus on interests of the respective time.
